December Wedding

This month I had a big wedding cake to make. 3 tier 22 inches tall. The bride was getting married the day after Christmas and that day a huge snow fall decided to come over us with record high(10inches). I really enjoy making this cake. It was totally different than my usual style so it challenged me. I also had to have my husband help for the transportation considering the weight of the cake and the conditions of the roads. I also made over 150 cake bites for the guest using the same color scheme of the cake: Red,white and gold.

Taylor guitar

Hello,
These week was very busy with pastries and cakes(and sick kids) but so far so good. I has an order for a guitar shaped cake. A client email me a pictures of her husband guitar and asked me to make a cake alike. I have to say that my husband helped me a lot on supervising the decorations. I had no clue how a guitar is, I used the picture but help from somebody than knows guitar really helps. The body is chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and the neck is red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I also almost destroy the cake during the delivery but this is all another story.....

Zebra Cake

Recently I receive a few request for cakes with zebra prints. This is small(6')one. It is a chocolate cake in zebra print and decorated with eatable flowers. My client instead of the big cake opted for a small one and an assortment of cake bites for easy serving.

Spider man cake

Hi, how are you today?
As you can see my week-end was busy, 3 cakes in 3 day was a challenge! This cake was for my friend son. He loves Spider man so I wanted to do something cool for him. It is not a girly cake nor pink or glittery but I think I like it. And I think he liked it too because he was so nice to bring me a present after the birthday party.

Club Penguin Cake

I had a request for a club penguin cake. I have to be honest I had no idea what club Penguin was but thanks to google I was able to learn. Don't you love google? It is like an online 24-information tool!
Anyway this is a French Vanilla cake with butter cream frosting. I made all the penguins and igloo with a mix of fondant and gum paste.

50 Anniversary Cake

This week I worked on a cake for a couple 50 Anniversary. A client asked me for a cake for her parents anniversary. Gold is the color for the 50 anniversary so I had to put some gold accents. This is a small(6"inch) cake, just perfect for a couple.

Cake bites

October is breast cancer awareness month. I received a request for cake bites for an event and I wanted to add a touch to remember breast cancer. I made 40 French Vanilla(my all time favorite) cake bites dipped in pink chocolate.

Wedding cake

I want to start this blog with one of my favorite wedding cake. I was asked to make a cake for a wedding in September using the colors:white, black and red. So I made a 3 tier French Vanilla Cake covered with white fondant as a base. I topped the top layer with roses. The wonderful sparkling detail on the 2 tier is a vintage brooch I brought with me from Italy. I have to say that was the first 3 tier cake I made and I was very nervous about it( taller cakes are a challenge especially during the transfer).Everything turned out great and the bride and the groom were very happy.
